Thanks to Sally over at Meine Welt (see sidebar), I found “Madame Zaritska’s” hilarious “labor and birth experience predictor.” For her, obviously, it was wrong, but this is what I got :
“The day you deliver, outside will be blustery. Your baby will arrive in wee hours of the morning.
After a labor lasting approximately 8 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and will be 19 inches long. This child will have dark brown eyes and a lot of hair.”
You would think that since my husband has brown eyes, well, of course any of our kids would have brown eyes, right? This would be slightly disappointing to me, since my whole family has blue eyes. But wait, there’s hope!
From Wikipedia, on gene dominance relationships : “It is important to note that an individual showing the dominant trait may have children who display the recessive trait. If a brown-eyed parent is homozygous, they will always pass on the dominant trait, and therefore their children will always have brown eyes, regardless of the contribution of the other parent. However, if that brown-eyed parent is heterozygous (and they typically would have no way of knowing), they will have a 50/50 chance of passing on the suppressed blue-eyed trait to their offspring.”
And what is unique about Moroccan Berbers? That’s right, some of them have blue or green eyes!
I want to note, before anyone gets excited, I am not pregnant.

Darn it, I thought I might have infected you, too. It seems like 3/4 of my friends here and 1/2 of blogosphere are pregnant here. I wonder what YOU told Madame Z. At any rate, it seems to fit ME….except for that labor part, which I can always hope to be shorter!

And this is what I got from Madame Zaritska:
The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive in the evening.
After a labor lasting approximately 18 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and will be 19-1/2 inches long. This child will have light brown eyes and some very fine hair.
18 bloody hours - the sadistic bitch; I’m going for Caesarian.

Well, Kenn, I think 18 hours is pretty darn fast for a medical miracle! Ha ha.
Sally, 1/2 of blogosphere? Anyone who just gave someone a toy helicopter, by any chance?!
