Resolutions

The most common New Year’s resolutions:

1. lose weight

Welcome to America!

2. stop procrastinating

That was one of mine, too, but it was more like “Stop fiddling around on the computer so much.”

3. Fall in love

Not one of mine, but I like to have a “crush” every now and then.

4. be happy

You have to have a resolution to be happy? Sheesh.

5. Get a tattoo

I’m getting a tattoo, which horrifies my husband to no end, but too bad. I’ll post after I get it. [may not be soon, though]

6. drink more water

Drink more Mountain Dew!

7. get married

Hm, already did that. Not entirely sure why, either.

8. go on a road trip with no predetermined destination

Not until I get a winter road kit together.

9. Take more pictures

This is always a good one.

10. Learn Spanish

Make that “Practice Arabic and French.”

11. Save money

Trying, trying.

12. Make new friends

I’m sort of a homebody, so this is difficult.

13. Buy a House

Nope. I may buy/build a house in Morocco someday, though.

14. Read more books

I read about 3-4 books a week, but I guess there’s always time for more.

15. get out of debt

All I have is student loan debt, and quite a bit of it. I’ll be saddled with that for quite a while.

My Real Resolutions

1. Walk to work once a week (about 3 miles each way)
2. Save for trips - Ireland and India are tops on the list
3. Get rid of a bunch of stuff (clothes, etc…) that I don’t use
4. Do more for personal improvement
5. Write more (book about life in Southern Morocco, etc…)
6. Turn off TV whenever possible
7. Make more of an effort to keep in contact with friends
8. Practice baking (going through Julia Child baking book)
9. Eat better (Mountain Dew is not food)
10. Be more patient

Great resolutions! I have to admit, I was very tempted to “borrow” your 2nd, 3rd and 7th… Good luck and Happy New Year!
