The great thing about being here is that I can find shoes in my size. In Morocco, I was often forced to wear a size that was slightly too small, or buy something dorky for my so-called giant feet. I’m only a size 10, but Moroccan women in general aren’t as tall as me (6’0″), and they consequently don’t need big camel feet to support them. Getting a djellaba made was another adventure, since I had to buy more fabric than the usual amount (3 yards) because I’m so tall.
