Weaknesses

03 Jan

One of my weaknesses (besides Mountain Dew) is shoes. The ones you see below were just bought by yours truly from a new site called Endless.com, which offers free overnight shipping. What person with a drop of shoe passion in their veins could resist that? Or these, in particular:

Lunarosa Women’s Antille Flat with Velvet Ribbon

Shoes

The great thing about being here is that I can find shoes in my size. In Morocco, I was often forced to wear a size that was slightly too small, or buy something dorky for my so-called giant feet. I’m only a size 10, but Moroccan women in general aren’t as tall as me (6’0″), and they consequently don’t need big camel feet to support them. Getting a djellaba made was another adventure, since I had to buy more fabric than the usual amount (3 yards) because I’m so tall.

A shoe thing! Free overnight shipping! And being 6 ft tall! Why, I think I like every single thing about this blog entry…

Love the shoes! I would like to see them from the back as well:)
I have bought myself a bit vintage looking cuties just before X-mas… (just in case, cause you never know with Santa)

Are you my twin? I am also size 10 feet and 6 feet tall. I also had to get 3 yards of material to get a caftan made. People outside the shop were invited inside to gawk at my freakishness as I was tape-measured by a Moroccan man the size of a Oompa Loompa. However, constantly buying shoes slightly smaller had a Chinese foot-binding sort of effect on my feet — I can now wear those size 9s!

    Maryam – Thanks! :)

Magda – Oh, but if you click on the shoe picture, you can! And from the top, the bottom, the side, and any other view you want. That’s what sucked me in, actually – I saw that it wasn’t really a flat, but had a tiny heel.

Deeshla – Hm, I’m starting to wonder! Oompa Loompa, thanks for making me shoot Mt. Dew out my nose, ha. I still can’t wear the 9′s – I tried to, with mules, but that ended up as a burning line of pain across my heel…ow.

Hmm! 6 ft tall and a sociopath with a fondness for stabbing people. I’m getting more intimidated by the day;-)
I did some research on shoes for tall people before (being of the tall variety myself) and came up with this list of online stores mostly in the UK:

Ah! I wrote a comment, but it seems to have been caught by your filter. It was another one about neck stabbing, so you probably wouldnt want to read it anyway;-)

Numbers such as 6 feet and stuff don’t ring a bell to me, and I am too lazy to go convert that to “real” numbers!
The way the picture was taken makes it clear enough that the shoes weren’t completely flat.
“In Morocco, I was often forced to wear a…” — You no more live in Morocco?
