Tourists and Their Foibles

Rope Snap -

Yeah, I know that at least one of them is Moroccan, but the guy at the front is definitely a gaouri.

Also, this great post from LP Thorn Tree: [bolds mine]

Im currently in Rissani and thought rather than retracing my steps back up to Er-Rachadia it might be fun to get a bus to N’Kob and then trek over the Jebel Sahro to get back to the main road. Id be trekking alone, without a guide, and was hoping someone who has done some trekking in the region could give me some idea of the feasibility of this: is it possible to get decent information on hiking routes from somone in N’Kob? A map (probably too optimistic)? Are water sources going to be easy enough to find this time of year? Are the villages reasonably spaced and is it possible to organise basic food/accommadation? Any ideas of routes? - Giora

God, it’s hard not to laugh, isn’t it? At least one of the people died, though, so I felt bad about it.

Just one question - are those words in bold anything different? Do you see it impossible for that guy to travel like that?

Not impossible, but irresponsible and overly risky. Mainly, she (I assumed it was a she from the name, but I suppose it COULD be a man) will be trekking without a guide - so who’s going to tell them where the water sources/villages are? It’s already very hot in Morocco, so that’s a critical point.

Lots of people trek without guides, but normally they have some prior knowledge of the area and/or good maps etc…

What a video! It didn’t make me laugh, I just puzzled! The cord wasn’t even seen clearly, and they were four! What were they thinking? The man in the video said that no one died…And then “lbaqiyya fi barnamajikom bedôni 3onwân”. What? I didn’t know we had a TV program entitled like that!
