Oh gosh, EB, you're right. Also a tiny bell rings for each key. And it smells like ditto paper. :)

No, they're not hard to check, it's a giant box under the counter that has "KEYLOGGER" stenciled on it in big letters. And if that doesn't clue you in, the sound of the letters falling one by one into the metal interior will be sure to get your attention.

Lady Zee's plan is a good one - but it's sometimes hard to check. Many keyloggers operate in stealth mode. So...check the installed programs, running processes, etc...maybe even a quick registry search if you have time.

LGG - Not for nothing. The workers at Dairy Family SuperMart thank you.

EB - I assume the worst, too. I fear that Xoussef may be correct.

Every time i use another computer i first check if there's any keylogger on it :) They are easy to find and you could turn off the recording easily.

You mean that the FBI doesn't have a fax link to Xerox machines? Have I been photocopying my bum for *nothing*??

not impossible, but if they do, they're likely doing it without letting anyone know and certainly not the cybers cafes owners. that means a lot of work to sort all this data.

I used to think Xerox machines had a fax link to the FBI so they could read everything we copied (this was before the internet). I tend to assume the worst, so when I first heard about the NSA filter-tapping millions of phone calls daily, my reaction was, "But I thought they've been doing that for years...?" But I have to admit that "keystroke loggers" aren't something I knew was possible. I personally favor a total transparency society, where everyone's actions are recorded at all times, including those of the police, so you can watch them watching you....

Anyway, thanks for the link to Amit's site, which looks like it will be worth a return visit!
