There’s a lunar eclipse tonight (ok, very early tomorrow) over much of the States. If you’ve never seen one, it’s worth staying up for (or getting up, early birds).

Lunar EclipseThe last one I saw was at 4:30am on a chilly morning in Morocco - I was leaving the Gorge to go somewhere (I think I was catching the early bus back to Rabat) and that blood red moon was hanging in the sky over the cliffs. If you’re a superstitious person, that’s not the best sign to see before you travel.

This guy pretty much rocks.

Another little tidbit about me…my father (retired) was an oil and gas geologist, and I’ve sort of inherited his interest. I’ve written to several geologists about rock formations around the Todra Gorge, and now I’ve found this:
